Very interesting interview with many good recommendations for future reading and viewing of Craig Zahler's work. Much appreciated, Stephen! I love that cover of the stripper over the animal trap, amazing image. As a former frequent denizen of the ecdysiastical demimonde, I find it brilliant.

Harry Stephen Keeler is someone I've heard about for years but never read. This interview inspired me to look around for more info about him, and I found the HSK Society online last night as well as copies of the magazine Keeler edited for over 21 years, 10 Story Book, at the Internet Archive. I believe I read an excellent article in a very fragile original copy of that magazine some years ago, perhaps written by Keeler himself, about the taxi dance halls of Chicago.

As a writer of female domination erotica I've long admired that The Damnation of Adam Blessing cover art, but years ago when I finally got a copy of the book (I'd read & enjoyed Vin Packer's Whisper His Sin previously) I couldn't get into it for some reason or other...now I have to remember where I put it so I can return in a better frame of mind to see what it's all about. Craig's description made it sound quite intriguing.

Thanks for this, I love Zahler’s films and haven’t read any of his books. Time to rectify that and add all his favorite authors and books to my reading last.
